If you love lemons and tartness and food that leans sour in general, then this is the tofu recipe for you. I definitely fall within that category which is why this is easily one of my top three favourite tofu recipes. It’s a must make for many reasons: the sauce is the perfect balance of tart and sweet, the tofu itself is super crunchy and full of nooks and crannies for that delicious lemon sauce to coat, and the recipe makes a healthy amount of sauce to drizzle over your rice and veggies.
At this point I’ve pretty much perfected my tofu method since I’ve been making it for so long and in so many variations. For this recipe (and most crispy saucy tofu recipes), I like to tear my tofu using this neat little trick I learned from Sarah’s Vegan Kitchen. Tearing creates extra surface area which = extra crispy area which = extra area for sauce to cling to. Yum. Let’s get into the recipe.
